The Power of Gratitude
What do you feel grateful for today?
This is one practice that lifted me out of my darkest moments a couple of years ago. It is a simple one. One that anyone can do. And maybe hence often overlooked as a powerful tool. This little focus on what I feel truly grateful for using just a simple pen and some paper, works wonders for me, even today. Sometimes, as I lay in bed at night, I would recall whatever that I'd felt grateful for in the day. And then drift off to sleep this way... love its soothing effect.
When I came across this Tedx youtube video featuring Louie Schwarztberg on Gratitude, it brought tears of gratitude to my heart (what else ;) ). Nothing like understanding for oneself, the power of something that someone talks about, through doing it. For it really changed the way I viewed life. Life in general, and more importantly, my life. And it got me happier. Fast. With each repeated viewing of this video, I am humbled by the power of gratitude.
Try it and you'll see. One tip I found is, to mean what we say we are grateful for.

Let me share perhaps in my next post what I'm grateful for ... for now I just want to say I'm grateful to have one of my fave youtubes on gratitude shared "out there", finally, as I've been wanting to do so for a long time.
